021: Immaculate Conception, the White Lady cocktail, and kissing saints

Mike and Alexandra talk about what the Immaculate Conception is, what it is not, and why it was defined in 1854 of all times. Also discussed: Why St. Joachim must have been a great kisser. They enjoy one of their favorite cocktails: the White Lady, and talk about its variations.

Drink: White Lady

1 egg white

2 tsp. Powdered sugar

1 oz. gin

1 oz. vodka

1 oz. Cointreau  

1 tbsp. Fresh lemon juice

Lemon bitters

Beat egg whites and powdered sugar until the mixture forms soft peaks.  Pour the egg mixture and all other liquid ingredients except lemon bitters into a large shaker with ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into a cocktail glass and top with lemon bitters.
